Lathes

A lathe is one of the oldest machine tools known to man and are used to rotate work pieces while you shape the wood through cutting, sanding, drilling or any number of other operations. Using a lathe gives your product symmetry, and as such, lathes often produce decorative pieces like candlestick holders and table legs.

In addition to shaping wood, different types of lathes can be used in metalworking, metal spinning and glassworking, and can even shape pottery. Each type of lathe is made for a specific purpose and can be extremely large or as small as a watchmaker lathe, which can be held in one hand.
