Electric air compressors are usually not quite as powerful as their gas-powered counterparts, however there are many reasons you may want to choose electric over gas. For instance, if you’ll be using your compressor indoors at all, you should always use electric and never gas—the exhaust fumes of gas compressors are extremely dangerous in confined areas and should only be used in well ventilated areas.
If you need portability out of an air compressor, an electric compressor might not be your best option, unless you will always be transporting it to locations with available electrical outlets.
