Horizontal band saws don’t let you make the irregular cuts you can make with a traditional band saw, however they do give you the ability to cut large stocks of many materials, including metals, with accurate, straight cuts.

After mounting your work piece in the tool, you simply let the hydraulics lower the arm through the piece, making an accurate, clean cut. Most horizontal band saws also give you the ability to make miter cuts.
