For something as simple as hanging a picture or as complex as tiling a floor or wall, you’re going to want a level. Levels, depending on the model, will let you align objects vertically, horizontally or on common angles. Many levels also include metric and English measurements so you can simultaneously measure distances.
Levels come in a number of different sizes, all the way from something that can fit on your key ring to several feet long. While generally not as accurate as digital levels, manual levels are much less expensive and great to have around the house or job site.
